HEARLab® ACA
HEARLab® ACA
HEARLab® ACA (Aided Cortical Assessment) adds objective cortical information to the hearing-aid fitting pathway. Using dedicated speech-like stimuli presented in free field, it assesses whether a detectable cortical response is elicited under the tested fitting condition.
Particularly valuable when reliable behavioral confirmation is unavailable or insufficient, HEARLab® ACA supports post-fitting validation, fitting review and counselling through a standardized workflow integrated into Maestro.
Objective post-fitting validation
REM verifies the acoustic output delivered at the ear against prescribed targets. HEARLab® ACA adds another piece of information: whether amplified speech-like stimuli elicit a detectable cortical response under the tested fitting condition. This helps clinicians assess whether the current fitting is providing cortical access to speech-like sounds and can support fitting review when needed. This can be particularly useful in pediatric, non-collaborative and other difficult-to-test patients.
Cortical assessment made practical
HEARLab® ACA combines dedicated /m/, /g/, /t/ and /s/ speech-like stimuli, free-field presentation, integrated equalization and Hotelling’s T² statistical analysis with a clear p-value.
The guided Maestro workflow reduces reliance on visual waveform interpretation alone, supporting both aided post-fitting assessment and unaided cortical evaluation when clinically relevant.
Simple, patient-friendly workflow
HEARLab® ACA is performed in free field with the patient awake, relaxed and comfortable. No button press, verbal response or active task is required.
